I'm learning so much on here! Another problem (or feeling) I have is when I'm in a bad flare, such as now. Sometimes after eating, I feel like food (acid?) "something" gets thrown all the way to my sinus. Always right side that something feels stuck. I have to plug my left nostral then suck it out to clear my right sinus. Maybe I'm sicker than what I thought after writing that. LOL. Seriously, my symptoms sound far worse than others. Sure we all think that but I'm at the point of jumping off a bridge. Maybe something mechanical not working right? Sometimes I have to use baking powder and salt up my nose to get all the mucus up. Does all this sound like I have something else besides LPR. That's what I keep getting diagnosed with. Meds did seem to help more in the beginning? Please give me any advice.

For what I've read on this board it seems that many people with GERDS aslo suffer from sinus problems. I myself have had problems for many years with sinus headaches but I don't believe in my case they are related to the acid reflux. I can tell you what has all but eliminated my sinus problems. For the last year I have been using NeilMed Sinus Rinse twice a day. Once first thing in the morning and then again about an hour befor going to bed. I went for 15-20 years using decongestants daily and still having a headache 3 or 4 days out of the week. I used to go thru a large bottle of tylenol in a month. I would say I've used tylenol maybe 5 times in the last 6 months and I haven't used any decons for 11 months. I still working on a solution to the Acid Reflux. I've made progress but I still haven't got that demon whipped yet.

I'll be sure and try the products you suggested. I do use a neti pot and it does help a lot. It's the problems I have after eating or drinking that drives me crazy. I can even get a sucker and things start going on in my digestive symtom and effects my sinus.
Do you sound nasal a lot? Even when my voice is understandable, I sound very nasal. Haven't been able to smell in past few years. ENT says all due to LPR.

I have the same thing you describe, always right after i eat, like instead of food going down it seems pushed up into my sinus area, i always sound nasally, i have no heartburn whatsoever so i dont thinks its gerd or acid reflux, iv had sinus surgery 4 months ago and still have this problem, i am still going to the doctor to get it figured out, any luck with you? my last visit to the ent ,he said i could have a muscle issue that my upper throat mucsle insnt opening at the right time maybe forcing food up into my sinus, and that id need to have a video camera test to see if this is happening, i will be doing this soon if the recent antibotic/bacteria doesnt help, its always try this try that untill the find the solution but i dont want to stop searching untill im fixed

I had appt with "new" ENT spec and she looked into my sinus and throat with light. Said lots and lots of mucus and she felt it was caused by acid reflux. After this being about the 5th ENT to tell me that, I suppose that's what it is. Now the problem of how to fix it since none of the meds have helped that much. It's bad today and I'm afraid I'll cough so much that I lose my voice again! Feels like my sinus fill every time I eat or drink something yet nothing comes out. Finally at times, I'll get lucky and a bunch of mucus and white stuff will come up and I'll feel better. So far just sniffling real hard. It's gross and hard not to grow anxious with this feeling.

Oh! P.S. I would like very much to hear what you find out on this muscle issue. I thought I had a cyst or something way in back of my throat on one side but ENT spec said it's my hyoid bone sticking out. I believe that has something to do with my problem because when I have this feeling, I feel like I need to push on the right side of my throat where this bone sticks out to dislodge something. Please give me an update.
