View Full Version : weight gain?

I just started birth control less than a week ago. I am taking Loestrin, which is a low estrogen pill because I already have big boobs (and refuse for them to get bigger) and because I refuse to gain weight. However, I am paranoid that I will still gain weight and grow bigger boobs. I guess there's still a chance that that could happen on this pill. How long would it take for me to find out that I was gaining weight or getting bigger? I've only been on it for 5 days...how long would it take? And would the effects be reversed if I stopped immediately? Would my boobs stay bigger? Would I have to diet to lose the weight?

HELP!

I feel the same way you do!! My gyno keeps pushing the pill on me to cure severe ovarian cysts, but I'm terrified of the side effects that I won't take it. I'm basicallyjust suffering because I'm scared of what may happen. Let me know how it works for you and good luck!!!

You sound like me....minus the big boobs. My doctor put me on Yaz to help with PMDD. I'm on my 2nd week of it. I suffer from depression and my dr. told me that it might interfere with my depression. I was very scared to go on it but she encouraged me saying it's a very low dosage. I've been lucky so far with no upset stomach. My moods have been ok too. Next week is the week before my period, which is when PMDD usually runs my life. I'm hoping the pill will help with it. If I'm cursing everyone out, I guess not. I also don't know how long it takes to get into your system. I think it's interrupting my sleeping as I wake up and just stare. But then again that could be because school is starting soon. I think I'm more nervous than my students. I'm ABSOLUTELY petrified it will cause weight gain. So far I'm ok. I'm thinking I just really have to watch what I'm eating and not give into the cravings. Are you an emotional eater? I am. If I'm under stress, remove all food. My friends keep telling me they didn't put on any weight so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I'll be the first on here ranting if I do.
