View Full Version : AML as Secondary Illness Followed By Non- Hodgkins Lymphoma

My husband has been in the hospital for 32 days followed by an infected ant bite that was diagnosed finally as AML. He had non-hodgkins lymphoma nearly 3 years ago. Currently, he has completed 3-7 of the induction portion of his journey to remission{2 weeks after the ant bite }. Has anyone ever heard of this AML as a secondary cancer? He is tolerating the chemo very well, so I am praying for a remission, but I am wondering about his prognosis since has already had aggressive RCHOP chemo with the lymphoma .He is 56 years old. I don't really know what questions to ask. The only thing the Dr. {oncologist} says is "one day at a time" when we asked about bone marrow transplants and stem cells. This is so overwhelming, I mean 2 blood cancers and so much to know..
