how accurate are at home preg tests? Has anyone taken some at home and had them be negative and them go to the doctor and find out you are pregnant?

Home pregnancy tests are very accurate for most people. In fact, the doctor's office uses the same pregnancy tests that you buy at the drug store. The only thing that is more accurate is a blood test. A positive blood test will show up much sooner than a positive urine test.

It is likely to get a false negative early on because your hormone levels are not high enough. If you wait a week or so, then you may get a positive.

It is unlikely that you will get a false positive. If you get a positive sign, then you are most likely pregnant.

Good luck. Hope it comes out whatever way you want it to!

I actually had the opposite problem. I took an at home test that was positive, and the doctor's test was negative. The home tests can be more sensitive... like First Response.
