My Fiancé was just diagnosed with MS. We live in near Green Bay, WI and I would like to find the best place to go to get a second opinion/treatment plan. Where should we go?

You can continue to wait for someone to post here...but in the meantime you can also contact the local MS society in your area...they should have lists of MS Specialists- which at this point is THE ONLY WAY to get a second opinion.
Also, start getting ahold of all your fiances tests/results/films to date...youll want to have them anyway for whatever the future holds, but having them onhand to give to another doc to review will save both time and money..
Sorry to hear about this...but welcome to our board and be sure to post any specific questions or concerns that we might be able to help you with.

Thank you for your quick reply. I am checking some of the clinics in the Mid-West, however there seems to be quite a delay in seeing someone for a consult.

Thanks Again,

It usually does take up to 6 months to get an appt with an MS Specialist...Im sorry to have to report that. Sometimes, if you have a good Neuro or GP, they can make a call and get you in sooner... you can also try to convince the nurse that your finace is having a major attack and NEEDS to be seen immediately, sometimes that works...or you can ask to be put on a cancellation list, incase someone does cancel- but thats risky..not too many of us cancel our much needed appts with our MS specialist.
Good luck to you..

I have never had to wait more than 4 weeks. I guess I am a pain. Having your primary care Dr. really does help. When I have had a problem getting in this has always worked.

If your fiance has been diagnosed with MS. Didn't yr docs offer a treatment plan in the first place?? Maybe a call from yr GP to the Neuro will get him in faster. That happened to me a while ago cause i was told to wait 6weeks to see him. Glad my GP called my Neuro ,i got really ill and needed immediate treatment. But if its a second opinon yr looking for, Good luck in your search hope you find a helpful Neuro...
