I just noticed that my front tooth is two toned. The top third is dark yellow while the bottom 2/3 is light yellow. What the heck happened? Is my tooth slowly dying? I'm not experiencing any pain at all. I was at the dentist last month and he didn't mention anything. It seems to be a very recent development.

When my upper 4 front teeth started to look dark yellow near the gum line I was told it was from gum or bone recession and they were "calcifying". Eventually they did start to flange out, become a darker yellow throughout the tooth and then the gums started to ache. i was told they could not be saved by several different types of dentists and had them removed but they had been knocked around in 2 separate accidents when I was younger so I just accepted their fate and was thankful I guess that they lasted as long as they did. You may want to see an OS or endodontist to have them checked out.

So did you get crowns as replacements? Or did you go with a bridge?

I did a 4 pontiff fixed bridge supported by implants - however I did have the option of not doing the implants and attaching the bridge to the canines on either side of the 4 missing teeth - actually the temp brdige was done that way while the implants were healing for several months and once I was fully healed they attached the perm bridge to the implants and just crowned the canines indivuually.
