In my email from mom was as follows:

last week I had MRI of neck.
the report from the radiologist is screwed up, doctor is waiting for
call back, but it looks like i have a mass either on the thyroid
gland, or on the pyroted(sp?), which is near the ear on the side of
the face. once we figure out what it is, i have to have a biopsy. i
know you are really good about looking this stuff up, can you find
out what happens if it comes back as cancer?? thx mom

Hi. Could "pyroted" possibly be carotid? There's a carotid artery in the neck.

As there was a mention of thyroid , It may be Parathyroid ( not sure of the spelling ) Look in the Thyroid forum you may find out more from there. L
