A while back my fillign came away from my tooth but not all of it, I left it until part of my tooth feel away it wasnt painfull so went to dentists and they said they will rebuild and fill it, which they did using white filling, I got pain few days later so had to go back they said it could be due to leaking and took x ray but couldnt see anything so they drilled and re filled and said the leaking had gone, the pain was still there so had to go back again and basically I was telling trhe dentist about what i read about numerous people gettign same pain sensitivioty as me from white filling, so they said would change the filling to dark one, as they were drilling they then said the nerve is exposed you need a root canal!!! its obvious that they didn somethign wrong in the first place, now I have to have a RC I went in with no pain originally and its come to this!
Al;so at the start when I went back with pain they said dont need root canal??? opinions?

I think you should of had a root canal in the begining , not filling it in if the dentist filled the tooth all the way down to the root . I think you need another opinion from another dentist and find a good one and keep going until you do . Changing the filling to a dark one is not going to help the pain in the tooth .

They have started the root canal they drilled to the nerve and they said it was showing and actually asked could they touch it to check!!! It hurt like hell!!! they then put stuff on it that would kill the nerve (is that correct) and then put a temp filling on top, I have to go back in 3 weeks

can somebody tell me how long does it take for nerve to die? as I said she put the stuff in yesterday I have bad shooting pain in side of my head and if chew on the tooth ie: if food presses down on it , it hurts really bad
