hi there'
I have an astigmatism in both eyes and my eyesight is pretty bad. I never used to wear my glasses but now have contacts which i wear 80%of the time.

anyway, my problem is that in the center of my vision i can sort or faintly see like a flash or an after burn of when you look at a light, or its a little patch of sparkliness. it doesnt really affect my vision but i notice it, especially if i am looking at a plain background or not focussing on something. Sometimes it grows and gets bigger and blocks my vision as you would experience ina migrane. My optician said its just cus my eye is working extra hard without my contacts that its makig funny patterns, but i notice it with my contacts in and it seems to have got worse.

I do suffer from migranges and get blinding auras. My migranes have recently increased from maybe one a year to 7 so far this year!!!

also, without contacts if im looking at a plain background or sopmething sometimes the image is.....wavy, you know like if you look at the surface of a pool in the sun, that kind of pattern.

is this just cus of my bad visionm and the strain it puts on my eyes? or could there be something else?

thanks

Lou

I'm not qualified to diagnose anything, but you might try another doctor. It sounds like you have too many symptoms to be told that your eyes are just working too hard. As I get older, I've noticed that my eyes simply get tired focusing much sooner than before. As a point of interest, I've tried various OTC supplements over periods of time to record their results. Haven't seen too much from the stuff in stores. Maybe a little relief. Visiloc seems to have helped me more over the past 3 months. I'll stay with it a while longer and advise any changes.

Good luck to you. Migranes are terrible, so I hope you can get those under control. Take care....
