I have very inflamed infected cuticles on the 3 middle fingers. Not the thumb or little finger.
Originally they were also peeling and inflamed. I actually went to a GP 4 weeks ago and he said that it was a fungus and told me to get this creme with clotrimazole 1%. That at first seemed to work but then made it more inflamed and moved to all fingers also.
After numerous tries with different hand cremes It seemed to subside when NOT using any creme with Vitamin E. (years ago I had an allergic reaction - hives to Vitamin E)
Then my fingers again started getting inflamed again. So I have slowly removed any cremes, soaps and herbal meds. It seems to flare up when I use a specific brand of Q10 which has a milksolid in the ingrediants (I have an intolerance to milk).
I have been off the Q10 pills for 3 days but the cuticles still are inflamed and seem worse. Any suggestions as to what else it could be?
Also why is it only ONE hand? Just a side note. I am allergic to stainless steel metal on the right side not the left. Go figure this one out
What else should I be looking for?

Try using a steroid cream that won't mascerate the condition (keep it wet), It could possibly be a Paronychia infection of the nail folds as well. You might want to see your dermatologist.
