View Full Version : Taking Red Yeast rice at bed time

I currently take 1,200mg Red Yeast Rice twice a day. Once in the morning with breakfast and once late afternoon around 5PM. Would it be better to take my second dose at bed time? To my understanding very late in the evening around bed time is when your body produces more cholesterol. Has anyone seen an improvement by taking it at bed time? Any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Arizona77,

Actually, it's during one's sleeping cycles that cholesterol is produced.
If your RYR is of the extended release formula, then 1700hrs. is fine.
If not, have a snack between 20:00-21:00hrs and take the RYR then.

No absolute right way to do this. For example, I take mine at dinner and at bedtime. Just convienent and the bedtime dose covers the time most cholesterol is generated.
