For the past few days Ive been experiencing a burning on and under my right rib, feels like something is tight. Sometimes its stabbing.
In March I had a full work up of my abdominal area....which included the CT scan/ultrasound and colonoscopy! All my organs were healthy and fine.
I don't know whats up with this!
Hope

Hi Hope,
I often get the same type of feeling as you and like you had endless tests that were all clear. the final diagnosis I received was that it was caused by IBS which is often associated with FM. Sometimes the pain gets so bad it radiates round my back and down the right side of my groin (I was examined and tested for Gallstones) but that was all clear too. I find an attack as I call it lasts for up to about a week, I can also get the feeling that I need to burp a great deal. I usually drink a great deal of peppermint tea during such an episode. Sorry I can't be of any further help to you.
Wishing you better soon. Lyn

My mother describes the same burning sensation. Sometimes she feels blisters on her back and can not sit or lay down.
She can not get any relief from it when it starts.

Hi it is interesting to hear how you felt. I, too, had those same burning, stabbing pains, but on my left lower abdomen, groin area. wrapping around, and through to my lower back, along with the pain I could hardly move. I was finally tested fo reverything, which showed nothing. I am being treated for lyme disease, after being diag. with Fibro for numerous years. I took different antibiotics, like doxy, and biaxin with plaquenil with great results. Lots of my everyday and extreme muscle pains magically vanished, including joint pain and stiff fingers. I also started B-12 shots last week, and that seemed to help already. I do believe that most folks who have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia actually have some form of Lyme disease. I recommend you do some research on it. once I came out of my fog during treatment, I started my research, and was madder than ever for being misdiagnosed for so long. I had been bitten and even had the bull's eye rash, but never tested positive on a blood test. Therefore, I was not treated until 16 years later. What a difference. I also use supplements. I take a good multi, co-Q10, magnesium, drink Kefir, and try to get more sleep. Hope this helps. If you want to try herbal remedies, There are plenty of things to try, although, I think you have to find what works best for you. Before using any though, read up on Herx reactions to the antibiotics so you wont be surprised by them...

I am actually going through very similar symtoms right now. I just had an endoscopy, which showed chronic gastritis, which had just flared up. I was diagnosed with IBS as well, about 15 years ago and hadn't had a flare up in probably 10 years, but the doc said this could be IBS again as well. I didn't know about the connection with IBS and Fibro, but it makes sense.
