I have been having CNS symptoms for about 5-6 of the 8mo's that I have been sick with IDA. I have a neck spasm with facial and hand numbness comes at the end of everyday. I have been unable to work, thats why I can come here and learn lots. I have been to 9 docs and had all those autoimmune tests and MRI's and no one finds anything wrong (that's good).

I've started on PreNatal Vits to make sure that I'm getting all those good things. Never able to take vitamins before because of my stomach. I make myself do it now. Hopefully I'm not getting too much of a good thing. They have made me feel 100% better along with my Hgb rising. I'm now able to go for walks, haven't even been in a store or out to dinner just docs.

 I'm wondering from your experience if maybe my B-12 is low for me as an individual and I am experiencing these symptoms. My friend just went to a Hematologist and he wants her B-12 at 1000. D Vits, have not been checked as well. Recently the neck is improving along with the numbness, thank goodness! Not knowing why and having these symptoms is making me CRAZY!

B-12..........835..............234-894
Folate........H>20............4.2-19.9

Thanks in advance for any thoughs on the subject. FLFLOWERGIRL:)

Were your numbers lower before and did your recently get them to 800?

Now if you were alot lower on the B12 and very recently you were able to get to the 800 range then it could be that your body just needs time to regenerate and recover. It has taken me 14 months just to recover from the damage done by my low level of B12.

good luck

IamUnique--(Cool Name)THANK YOU! THANK YOU! for answering me I just need some expert opinions from people like you. I think we discussed this a little on another board. But really I'm grasping at straws here with tingling, muscle spasms in my neck and facial numbness. I just had another MRI today, first brain and now C-spine to R/O MS already R/O Lupus. I just think it's my body getting back to normal. Doctors say stress, I don't even work right now......It's starting to get better as my numbers go up.

When I had my B-12 in Jan when it all started I was 835 with >20.0 Folate
Today.............B-12 is...................................... ..981 with >20.0 Folate

I am only taking what B-12 is in my Prenatal Vitamin and I'm not preg either I must add. That is 12 mgs, something like that.

Do you think this is unrelated then?

Sounds like you had a very hard time too. Glad you are doing better. That B-12 is crazy stuff. I have a friend going through this too. Thanks again. FLFLOWERGIRL:)

I was finally diagnosed with Lyme Disease and co-infections from tick bite, after 16 years of being bitten that I remember. It mimics things like arthritis, ms, cns, facial bells palsey, joint pain, als, etc. you need to see a lyme literate doc, or check the website with the latest info on it www.ilads.org, the research is from columbia university, and the docs first who treated kids in Lyme Ct. good luck, when everything comes up negative, think Lyme Disease.

goodnuff--Thank you for your reply, greatly appreciated. I hear you clearly on your Lyme point. Many people have said that when I go on the MS boards here. My Rheumatologist asked me if I had been bitten by a tick, I have when I was a small child. That would have been 30 sommething yrs ago and he said NO! We never ever see ticks where I have live. Maybe I will have to push this test but this doc is not very easy to talk to he doesn't think that I need tested. Thanks so much for your interesting reply. FLFLOWERGIRL:)
