Hi guys!!

I was prescribed progesterone as a vaginal suppository to take after my iui's. Well I went to fill the script and NOBODY has 100 mg of it in their warehouse..NOBODY, and I called 4 different chains. Anyways I called the dr. and they called the pharmacy to work something out. Well they changed me to prometrium, which is supposed to be taken orally, but they told me to take it vaginally. Does anyone know anything about the 2???

TIA!!

i havnt heard much about it but i heard that if you are getting IF treatment it is a good idea to be on one of them.... i would suggest an online pharmacy. Good Luck!

Hopefulfor,

I was on Prometrium initially when my GYN was treating my IF but since I started seeing RE I have switched to suppositories after my IUI's also. They told me that not all pharmacies carry it, luckily, I went to my hospital's pharmacy and they had it but I take the 50mg. My RE's office suggested Walgreen's too, they apparently are more apt to have it. Wondering if you can take 2 of the 50mg.

My RE says that the suppositories have better absorption since your body doesn't have to break it down first as opposed to the oral. Not sure if that answers your question or not.

Good luck.

I take prometrium vaginally. The doc said it was because it is a more direct route.
