Ok my tooth in the back top left corner has broken off. It now has a hole there in the middle of it and I feel like there is stuff dripping out of it. It taste horrible. Its not green or yellow, I dont have a fever and I dont have swollen lymphnodes. Does this sound like infection to you? If you need more info just ask and I will tell you. Oh yeah I now have bad breath all the time even after I brush my teeth.I really hope its not because I dont have any money to go to the dentist. I can barely afford to feed myself.

You must go to the dentist. If you have an infection, and it spreads then you are going to put other healthy teeth in jeopardy. Sorry don't know where you live , but there must be some dental hospital or something that you can go to to get it treated cheaply. No money or not, do not leave an infection untreated.

A bad taste in the mouth that is something NEW probably means you have an infected tooth or gums. And yes, you have to go to the dentist. If you have a broken tooth it will stay infected and that infection can go into the sinuses.then to the brain and then you will have a worse problem. The tooth broke off either from:
an old filling that came out and took the tooth with it or,
an injury to the tooth from a cavity...
Call a dentist---as many as you have to--to get someone to see you---my dentist will put people on a payment plan that they can afford.
Perhaps pulling the tooth would be the solution for now until you can afford more permanent work.
see how they would suggest you handle it. There must be a dentist who will let you pay it out or does that kind of work pro bono.
Good luck.

Hi,
I remember once having an infection really deep in a tooth due to a crack in a filling. I started with an abscess at the top of my gum which grew until it burst. There was no pain just puss and blood. I was afraid to go to the dentist for fear of having it pulled. I shouldn't have worried, because he cleaned it all out and then packed it very deep with wadding soaked in antiseptic. He then sealed the tooth with something like wax, and left it for a week or so, until the infection, hopefully went. I do remember that every time I had a hot drink, I could taste the antiseptic, mind you it was better than the other taste. It did work, and he repaired the tooth. I hate dentists but I'm afraid there is no way round them, but I suppose we are lucky that there are people willing to do this work. Good luck!
