Hi everyone! I visited here alot last year through my first quit attempt which lasted 2 months. Hopefully this will be a permanent quit & not just an attempt!

I decided to start taking Chantix again 2 weeks ago, thinking I would quit mid-September.

Last weekend I was helping spread mulch at my daughter's school & ended up having an allergic reaction to the mulch. I was so sick & unable to breathe that I ended up quitting on Tuesday after only smoking a few since Saturday. Like an idiot I kept trying to smoke but I just ended up coughing uncontrollably, so finally I said to myself that this was as good a time as any to quit. I wet my pack in the sink & smashed the cigarettes so just in case I had a moment of weakness, I couldn't get them out of the trash :)

My mom left a pack here on Thursday & knowing they were here, I did smoke a few, but it was more of a habit than actually wanting one. So today is going to be my actual quit day.

I just want to let those struggling to quit that it can be done, hang in there & good luck!

Congratulations for making such a great decision. You are an inspiration to those of us who read this forum. Good luck with your quit, it is worth it.
