Hi Gang: As you might have guessed I'm a victim of the Dow Corning cover up. I had breast Cancer at the age of 29 and silicone/saline implants put in shortly there after. Some years later I had one implant rupture and the shell disolved into my body. I've been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia among other autoimmune health problems. I also just had a full blown attack of it and have been on pain pills for a week. I'm a newbie to all of this, does anyone have any advice? Thanks for your help! Terry

I'm sure you've seen a lot of my writings. What I did was explore natural healing, with improved diet and herbs etc. If you have any questions or would like more information, please let me know.

Sorry to hear about the rupture. Welcome.
There are a lot of good links posted just click on them when in them. Titles New To Board...... and ......IN A NUT SHELL and One on rule out tests need to be done. Research is the key to understanding this monsterous thing better. You have to take chargeof your health i that you need to research an know as much as the doctors. Many don't really know what hey re doing.ecuse they aren'tan FMS pecialist or board certified in FMS. Watch out for snake oil treatments. There are a lot out there. It took years to find a doctor that really knew what it was. We have been seeing A board certified FMS, CFS, Infectious disease pain managmnt specialist. We say if you had cancer you wouldnt go to someone who wasn't a board certified specialist. So to with FMS. We tried so many docs that really had no clue. We found him on the Co-Cure site in the posts mentioned above New to Board.
There is no cure but, there are remission states that can last years.
Good luck in your research and welcome!

I wanted to clarify, for some people there is a cure of fibromyalgia symptoms, especially for those poisoned by toxins. It took years for me to understand this, from personal experience. At one time I was heavily involved with herbs.
I know a lot about herbal therapy. When I consumed too much of these herbal teas I got a rash, especially in the area of pain. Herbal therapy healing is slow, but can work for some in cleaning up toxins. This is an area that Western medicine knows very little about. It requires lots of research.
My experiments helped me learn what herbs worked best and in what amounts. I don't recommend that people self-treat themselves, but this is the path I took until I figured it out. At times my experiments back-fired and I got very sick - but the end result is that I'm well today.
If you can find a doctor that understands this, and can help you clean up these toxins, that would be great. Sorry to hear about the rupture. I hope that you feel better....

Hi Kim, Gary and Rhody, Thanks for replying and for the advice. I'm very proactive in my health care. I learned I had to be when I had cancer. When it came to the silicone problem it took me 10 years to get the proper help. I got the same brush off as I'm sure you have too, from Doctors who just don't want to believe that we're sick. Or they did what I call bandaid medicine. treating the symptoms but not going to the root of the problem. I'm am now seeing a holistic doctor who is also a MD and I'm showing signs of detoxing. I would like to compare notes with Rhody and anyone else who has found ways to ease there symptoms. I don't even know what meds I should be on. I had to go to a clinic over the weekend when the fibro hit and all I was given was codine 3's. I've slowed down and rested more and I'm back on the suppliments that I ran out of two weeks before but my hands, feet, back, neck and shoulders still ache some. BTW Rhody, I've been getting my hair tested and it shows I'm quite low in calcium and magnesium. My doctor has me on special suppliments to get those minerals back into my body again. I'm also showing signs of sensitivity to wheat, and all solivents like paint, gasoline, paint thinner etc. Plus I had yeast that just wouldn't go away. I realize that my implants had many of the same ingredients as the solvents. The saline part of my implants had fungus and this is a reaction to the the implants in my body. Is fibro also a virus of sorts or does anyone who gets fibro have some sort of toxins in their system to bring on the disease? If everyone detoxed could they get rid of the disease? Just curious. Terry,
That's a tough question. I don't believe they know what causes fibromyalgia or its various symptoms. That's why I often bring it up, because my fibromyalgia symptoms were linked to my mercury-silver dental amalgams. Plus we hear sometimes from other people relating fibromyalgia symptoms to toxins (like possibly yourself).
That's what makes this support board great in that we can share experiences and ideas. For some of us, such questioning might leads some of us to cures. I know, for me, that I'm well today. Yesterday I went on a hike for about 6 hours with a heavy backpack (probably about 8 miles). Years ago, I was so sick that walking could be difficult at times....
Terry, I think you are doing great, in that you are looking at the well-being of your system by looking at the root of the problem. I think that is key for a lot of us to be healthy. That was the path that I took; getting well naturally when doctors could not help me. The body can heal itself if we give it a chance, with the perfect set of conditions. I think cleaning ourselves of toxins, and following a good healthy diet is so important. You all can read what I write about in the diet and nutrition board as a result.
One of the first herbs that I took to ease my muscle pains was ginseng (about 18 or 19 years ago). It was truly amazing. I can tell you all specifics about that later if you want. That was way before I understood herbs and the proper diet. It was a small amount from a tea bag from a manufacturer that makes a variety of herbal teas today.
Years later, when I was extremely sick, I bought bulk herbs and made huge volumes of herbal teas. One of the these that I got great results from, was marshmallow root. I also used comfrey root, but later I learned that this herb may cause problems, so I discontinued use. What I would do, would simmer them for about an hour, and afterwards refrigerate the solution for use for about 3 days. In those days when I first started all of this, I took other herbs as well. The healing was slow; month by month I felt better (this was before I had the dental amalgams replaced with white fillings). I continued this way, because the only thing the doctors could do for me, is cause me more pain and anguish with their "medications" and treatment. But how did they know that I was poisoned? How do any of them know anything about toxins (such as mercury in dental amalgams and poisons from breast implants) and how they affect us? Fortunately, more doctors (like holistic ones) are becoming more aware of this. Terry, that's wonderful that you got a great doctor that understands all of this. I can't say this enough!!! :)
If you would like to know more about herbs to help you heal, please let me know. I read many books and am self-taught. I preferred making my own herbal solutions rather than "processed" herbal supplements from manufacturers. I got heavily into herbs without fear because I was at the end of my rope. I had no other way to turn...I was miserable.
Our journey continues and we learn something new each day. It's great to be able to discuss all of this. We can learn from each other. I wish everyone well.
One more thing.... Herbs are great in that they can help restore the body to balance, and heal of us of the problems even if they are unknown. But they must be coupled with a proper diet....

Hi Rhody: I had a problem with the fillings in my teeth reacting to the platinum from the implants. Since I've had root canals go bad I'm having all my teeth pulled as a result. Many women dealing with silicone have had to go the same route. I'm sure that it's a part of my Fibro problem as well. I thought I would give you a list of what I'm taking twice a day to detox and rebuild my body. Chlorella, MSM, Flaxseed oil, Gota Kola, Borage oil, Ness 18 (enzyme suppliment), Milk Thistle, Vit. E, Zinc, KLB6, Beta Carotene, Malic Acid, Inositol, Magnesium, Calcium, Acidophilus, B-50, Evening Primrose, DHEA, and a multi Vit. I also have drops that I put in lemon water along with my electrolyte soultion. The drops are for pain in the joints, emotional pain and digestion. I've also stopped drinking any alcohol and coffee. And I try to stay away from refined flour and sugar products. I've been seeing this Doctor for less that a year and I'm improving. She also had me do 8 sessions of infarred saunas which helped also. There less heat but they tend to draw out more toxins. The times when I've had the attacks of Fibro is when I ran out of most of my suppliments or electrolytes and my body was stressed in some way. Either from over doing it or having teeth pulled. This last bout I made a point of resting and getting back on my regiment again and I'm feeling better. As for teas, Rhody you're hard core! I don't think I could get past the taste! lol I'll take caps anytime! :) Anyway I thought you might be interested in my pill count! Take Care Terry
PS Con Grats on your 8 mile hike, what a achievement!

Yes, the herbal teas did not taste good at first. I took these teas on blind faith, because I had no where else to turn. I didn't want to be sick, no matter how it tasted. Slowly, I got better.
Then years later I learned to add licorice root to my tea batches. It was just some "tricks of the trade". The licorice sweetens everything up and is supposed to be good too.
I think what you are doing is absolutely wonderful. I love to hear about people, using natural healing as part of their efforts to get well. Again, it's great that you have such a good doctor that can help you through all of this.
