I'm starting to do laser hair removal and I have questions:
1) I want to remove hair from my back, I'm not very hairy , how many times I'll have to go ?
2) The lady told me after 10-14 days from the treatment I need to wax it and cut it to quarter inch before every treatment. its really nececery ?
3) What is the average age ? I'm 19 in few months .. its too young ?

I've had 2 treatments on my upper lip and chin, so I'll try to help.
-My derm told me it would take 6-8 treatments to permanently remove the hair.
-I was told by my derm NOT to wax the areas being treated. Is this lady a dermatologist? because that doesn't sound right at all.
- I think you're at a good age, as long as you're over 18 and can consult for yourself, it's fine.
good luck!!

Jillr, thank you for the awnser.
The lady is a beautician not a dermatologist. I think I've made a big mistake... I already payed for it so I will go .. I will not wax it , just cut it to 0.25inch before each treatment.
Hopefully after few treatments the hair will fall and stop growing. she said the average is 10 treatment, if I'm less hairy from average it will take less ?

Guys, it will be very nice if you will try to help.
Where I go they are not seems very professional, and I don't want them to do mistakes.
Jillr, you said between treatment NOT to wax it, I also read in the internet and it says no to wax between treatments, but where I'm going to do the laser hair removal they told me to wax it after 2 weeks after each treatment. WHAT SHOULD I DO ? THEY SOUND LIKE THEY DONT KNOW WHAT THEY TALKING ABOUT.

You absolutely do not wax hair between laser treatments. When selecting a laser hair removal provider, ask about their training. They should have a minimum of 30 hours from a professional laser school.

I had laser hair removal done on my forearms. The entire treatment took about a year, with visits every 6-8 weeks.

You SHOULD NOT wax between laser visits! Hair grows in cycles, and that's why the visits are spaced 6-8 weeks apart. You zap the visible hairs, and then wait for the next cycle's worth to appear, then you zap them on the next visit, and so on, until they're gone. Waxing will remove the new growth, leaving nothing for the laser to work on!

My treatments worked great--I've had no re-growth, and I finished my treatments over 2 years ago. Laser hair removal works best on people with light skin and dark, coarse hair.
