My son has been having some very stange problems for almost 3 years. It started with chest pains, his personality has changed, and numbness and pain in his arms and shoulder. He has seen numberous doctors and the last one told us that he thought it might be Fibromyalgia. Can anyone tell me what it is and is there what tests do we need to have the doctors do. It is so hard to watch someone you love be in so much pain and hear doctors say its all in his head.

Punch in Fybromyalgia on your search engine, it will come up with quite a few sites to check. Those sites will tell you what you need to know.

I agree with Sunni. You will become a great advocate for your son once you are loaded with information.

hello klp37 Iam diane42 and i have had fybromyalgia for 8 years now You will find out more on the internet than you will from the doctors. Ask your dr to refer your son to a fybro specialist. They can do a simple touching test to see if it is fybromyalgia. There are 18 pressure points on the body and they can tell just by touching them and also there is no cure. But the dr can treat it with medication.basicly its widespread pain through out the body. Also you can suffer with fatigue. Once you and your family read all about it , you will have a better understanding of what your son is going through. good luck and i hope your son is ok
