Hello all, yes I have made it 3 1/2 months:) I quit with chantix. I had the nausea, I had the joint pain. I was sleepy alot. Chantix did make the cigs taste bad or at least not enjoy them so much. but because of the side effects I quit taking it after 3 weeks. The nicotine was out of my system so from there it had to be just my will. I have made it longer than I ever thought I would. I have smoked for 30 years. Sometimes I smell a cigarette and it smells so good. But the times are increasing that they smell bad. Every once in a while my head thinks "Cigarette" but myself has to say no. I don't miss it as much anymore. just sometimes. I do feel free:angel: No longer have to make sure I have some. and have a little more money. Just keep trying you'll get it. I do enjoy saying that I don't smoke anymore and to see the reactions :jester: most want to know how I did it. Most people want to quit Good luck you have only yourself to fight with.

Thanks for such an encouraging post. I am day 10 without smoking and can't wait to be where you are. I am having such a much easier time of it at this point that I am scared to death what will happen when time to stop the chantix. I've been smoking 38 yrs and would NEVER have thought i would stop. I want to be free from even just the thought of a cigarette. Free from the addiction!

both of you are doing great, I have been on chantix for over 2 months have been quit for almost the same time with the exception of a few here and there but thank goodness for chantix it has been a huge help, after I quit taking it the rest will be up to me, I do find the smell of cigarettes pretty nasty also and I dont crave them when I smell them. hooray for us.
