Fibromyalgia and Ganglia Cysts - a connection? [Archive]

My mother suffers from fybromyalgia and in the last year or so has begun to get ganglia cysts. Is there any connection between the two? Are there other fybromyalgia sufferers with the same symptom?

Amydee - Hi, well I don't know if there is any connection but I do have a gangalia cyst on both hands, in fact when the FMS is really acting up, especially mornings, the cysts are extremely tender and when I try doing anything with my hands they cause a lot of pain.

Hi,
I have a ganglian cyst on my rt. foot. I doubt it's related to fm since I have had it since I was 5 yrs. old.

It may be just coincidence but my mother also had a ganglia cyst years and years ago and had it removed and she was diagnosed in the late 80's with fibro and since I have many of the same symptoms (but no pain at pressure points at least not when dr checked) I wonder if I have it also?By the way what does a ganglia cyst look like and where on hand would it be found? I was only a baby when my mother had hers removed. I have noticed that lately I have these 3 bumps on the inside of my wrist right under the skin and have been wondering what they are I wonder if that's what it could be??

The cysts that I have are on the top of my hands, just below the wrist area located above the thumb and the next finger, can't think of the name for that finger right now. If I apply any pressure at all it hurts all the way down into my hands. Don't know if this is the same thing or not.

I also have ganglia cysts in my wrists.Both hands,top and bottom.I've had them removed several times,but they've always come back.It hadn't occurred to me that maybe they are related.Who knows.
