My Dr. just prescribed Lexapro for menopause related depression. I have all the symptoms. I never took anything like this before. I am just worried that later I might not be able to get off of it. Has anyone else had experience with this drug?

I have been on Lexapro for 5yrs now. Had hysterectomy and directly into menopause. The drug is great with no side effects for me (everyone is different). Had been on other antidepressants before but all had severe side effects. Warning-talk to your Dr before stopping, you do need to wean off! Good luck!

Excellent advice. Never suddenly stop taking any antidepressant. That could cause a myriad of problems, not the least of which are seizures.
