I didn't have the best dental health when I was little. I was never made to brush me teeth if I didn't want to and I didn't start brushing good until I learned about dental health in school so I started making myself take care of my teeth. I would brush 2 times a day. I still do that and I use Listerine but the gums on my lower teeth are still red and they aren't as tight as my other gums. I don't know why they are like this sense I take really good care of my teeth now. I was hoping it would get better but it hasn't. I'm afraid to go to the dentist because I don't know how much it would cost to get this fixed. any advice or opinions?

If you are suffering from gum disease the gums would bleed when you brush them. You may try flossing between your teeth if you are worried about them but really the only way to be sure is to see a dentist who can check for any signs of gum disease. If there were any signs then all they would need to do at this stage would be a deep cleaning around the gums which isn't very expensive but can stop gum disease getting worse in some cases. It doesn't sound to me if you have anything to worry about, but personally I think you should just check it out for peace of mind.
