I had my mammo done last Tuesday and the Dr's office still do not have the results-they said it is too soon-are you kidding me. I asked the secretary to have the doctor call me so let's see what happens. The doctor has been on vacation and is seeing patients so she could not talk to me at this moment. I will ask her if she can call the radiologist and check. Don't they realize how nervous a patient can be. There is such a coldness about it and perhaps I will consider looking for another medical office/doctor. I know I am probably annoying them but hey this is my life and my health and I so hope that if there is something wrong they would not wait this long to call me.
Does anyone know if there is something wrong - does a radiologist generally call or do they let the doctor do it?

Hey WHYME, annoy, annoy, annoy!! You are so right!! It is your life, and you deserve to get the results in a resonable amount of time!!
as far as the question regarding who calls..when I had my mammo..when something suspicious showed up..it was the radiologist who came out and explained to me that I needed further investigation of the area. I would hope that if there was something suspicious on yours..that you would know by now..Lets hope and pray thats the outcome!!
Keep breathing, and keep annoying!!!
keep in touch,
cj.

Thanks-what is it with these people-you would think with today's advance technology - it would be a quick process. There is a few places I have read about but unfortunately they are located in totally different cities than I am in that give you your results the same exact day - they specifically state that they do not let their patients anxiously waiting. This is the way it should be everywhere. I am in NYC and they should definitely get these results sooner. Thanks for your words.

I Finally Got My Results By Calling Doctor's Office A Million Times And She Got On The Phone And Said My Mammogram Was Normal And Come Back In A Year. I Am Truly Relieved And Now I Can Breath Again. I Have Been So Stressed About All Of This. Thanks For Your Words Of Encouragement. I Wish Everyone Good Results And Most Importantly Gooooooood Health Forever.;)

Hi
Glad to read your good news. Smiles. I am fortunate in that I do get my results within 1-2 days tops. Something that really bothers me, though, is how some offices are now outsourcing the work. Some radiologists' offices actually have the mammograms read by overseas personnel! I think this is outrageous. My doctor, because I have had cancer, always asks which doctor will be reading. If it is not one he has utmost confidence in, he will ask for a different doctor to read it. he has personal experience with the various readers. How can this ever occur when dealing with an unknown name and face across an ocean.
When I just has my recent mammogram, it was all computerized... no more big Xray sheets .. you know those metal slabs? First thing I asked was where and by hom those mammo pictures were being read. I was assured that the ssame office and doctors would be reading them and no overseas readings were ever done through this office. I would advise all women to ask this at the next mammogram testing.
Best wishes all
