In the current New Scientist magazine there is an article about an operation which may cure Type2 diabetes. It is a form of gastric bypass in which the upper part of the duodenum is removed so the stomach feeds directly into the mid-small intestine. This causes dramatic reductions in blood sugar.
It is too early to get excited about this as trials are ongoing, so in the meantime keep taking the medication, eat a healthy diet and take regular exercise.
