 Hi its me again.
Would like some feed back re wound infection.
My hubby is doing OK but now his wound is infected!!!!!
He is diabetic and they are having trouble keeping his blood sugar levels down.
They are saying it could be due to the infection??????
i have only heard of it being the other way around.
High or uncontrolled blood sugar causes slow healing and lessened defense from infection.
The doctors are better now since i read the the riot act but am not sure of this scenario they are putting forward.
At home hubby controlled type 2 diabetes with tablet and diet.
Now they are using insulin via injection but does not seem to be working!!!
Any thoughts or info greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Gail

Do they have a wound care/hyperbaric chamber clinic in your area? My wife works as a wound care nurse in a clinic like that and there are alot of things the wound care clinic can do to promote more rapid healing.
