Hi everyone I have been off and on this board from time to time and my journey has ended August 27, 2007. They always told me my husband would not die of the alzheimers but probably go with pneumonia and thats exactly what happened. I had him on hospise and when he got pneumonia I had to take him off of hospise and call 911 for them to take him to the hospital because he could not breath and I could not stand by and see him suffer like that so he spent one week on anitboticics but it did not help him and then they put him on morphine and we watched him take his last breath 12 days after. This is the hardest thing I have ever had to go through but I know he is at peace now and with the Lord. Thank you for this wonderful board and all the brave and loving caregivers out there I will tune in now and again and if I can help anyone with anything I have gone through I will be here for you. May God Bless you and keep you strong until your work is done . I will miss my love of my life we have been married 54 years and I would not trade one minute of it the good and the bad we have to find a cure for Alzheimers it is taking more and more of our love ones. Stay strong out there....I sure am trying too. Good night
