View Full Version : As bad as I'm assuming...?

First, thank you for taking the time to read this.

I am a 23 year old male, student, who, on a recent camping trip, had unprotected sex with a female who I would classify as 'at risk'.

I am now about 99% sure that I have acquired HIV from this encounter and expect the results of my many blood tests to indicate as such during the course of this coming week. Since I have been unable to find any peace of mind without knowing I have turned to the internet for help in my diagnosis.

The most troubling thing for me is that I seem to be displaying symptoms that do not match up well with anything but onset HIV (3-8 weeks timeframe, which fits my situation)

The ones that concern me the most together are:

-A persistent tingling/burning sensation somewhat throughout my body but mostly (and consistently) in my hands/feet

-Purple discoloration of certain areas of my body "closest to the blood", particularly at the point of scars and on the back of my feet, on my achilles tendons

Other symptoms which suggest to me that I'm experiencing onset HIV

-some weakness/fatigue
-I had feverish symptoms about a week ago including sore throat, weakness, fatigue, and fever

My doctor told me that it is probably unlikely that it is HIV but I am convinced and am simply waiting to be told that I have been infected with HIV. Is it possible that these symptoms (purple areas, persistent tingling/numbness in hands and feet) could be something other than HIV onset?

Your responses are GREATLY appreciated. Do not be afraid to tell me that it does in fact appear to be HIV. I do, after all, expect this to be the case.

I'm just trying to get through the 3-5 days it will take to get my test results back and I'm scared to death that I have passed it on to someone that I care greatly about like some kind of monster.

I should also mention that I've experienced some memory loss as well

i have to say your symtoms mean NOTHING towards telling anyone that they are hiv positive. the ONLY way to know your status is by testing only!
soo throw the symptoms aside, the odds are around 500 to 1 of getting hiv thru a known infected female and you have no idea if the female was even infected to begin with so i would say your odds are even much higher.
you should test neg and after you do use it as a wakeup call to only have sex protected unless your partner is confirmed neg by testing only
good luck
