View Full Version : FM & dental problems

Does anyone know how I can get in touch with Linda Cummings of the Arthritis Foundation? As per below website, she mentions her dental problems & fibromyalgia.

Her writings sound like my own experiences. I wonder if we both have dental problems stemming from hypercalcemia, which causes bone degradation, causing tooth nerves to "scream" with every chew.

Any fibromyalgics with abnormal dental problems should suspect that perhaps they have hypercalcemia. It can be tested by requesting from doctors a blood test INCLUDING a calcium reading. If the calcium is on the high side (close to 10), suspect hypercalcemia as the cause of all your problems, including muscles, etc.

P.S. I'm aware that dental problems are also caused by dry mouth associated with medications, Sjogren's etc.

This may not be the answer you are looking for. But one thing can lead to another....

I had dental problems that I linked to fibromyalgia symptoms. I had a reaction with my mercury-silver dental amalgams, so I had them removed and replaced with white fillings. It's a long story of more than 20 years that I can write to anyone interested.

No, my problems are from hypercalcemia (not fillings). For example, I know of at least two other women diagnosed with so-called "fibromyalgia" who, like me, were worsened by acupuncture treatments. I strongly suspect that those "fibromyalgics" (like myself) have hypercalcemia rather than "fibromyalgia", and that acupuncture, massage, etc. tends to jostle the loose, unabsorbed calcium that's floating inside us, thus causing the pain. There are other conditions, also, which mimic fibromyalgia, such as calcium pyrophosphate deposition disease.
