I've had some pains on the right side of my abdomen over the past few months, its been causing me a lot of anxiety. Originally, I thought it was something muscular or from twisting. I'm a competitive distance runner and I have been continuing to train, actually am running well and feeling well 90% of the time. But a lot of times when I'm doing workouts and running, I favor that right side, its almost like a constant side stitch I can't get rid of. It bothers me most when I'm sitting down, and when I think about it, it seems to get worse. I'm thinking maybe it's just my anxiety, but I have been having loose stools on a pretty regular basis. Most of them are brown, but last night I did have a green one(I know anxiety could be causing that). I do drink, and really need to cut back and stop, even though it is in moderation. Does anyone know what this sounds like? The pain is pretty much always there. Could it just be IBS or is it something more severe. I'm 25 years old, and really hoping and praying my liver isn't shot..

I would go see a doctor, but right now I'm in between jobs and have no health insurance, so I'm in a really tough spot...

I have had the same symptoms. My pain is actually lower, more around the right side of my naval. I've had extensive testing by my doctors and haven't been able to come up with anything but a milddly inflamed stomach. I take Nexium for that but the syptoms still exist. I also drink and worry about liver probs. I have cut back though. When you get your insurance set, you should see a doctor as a precaution. You're 25 and I would say it would be highly unlikely to have liver problems from drinking. Unless you drank gallon of vodka, but that would kill you on the spot.

thanks for the advice. my stomach's always a mess, but those right side pains, they're what scared the hell out of me knowing what it could have been. I'll cut back on the beers, but hope I stay healthy to keep logging my miles. Having anxiety problems sucks though because it makes me worry about everything :(
