I searched Book A Million the other day and I couldn't find a book to help my child understand my chronic illness. She is having such a hard time with this. I am so upset that she doesn't understand. She is very angry, clinging too much, yelling, back talking me, she has actually hit me and grabed me by the neck and wants so bad for me to be with her all the time. I have a hard time playing with her, school work is actually hard for me sometimes and I haven't any Patience. When I am in a flare and need to be a lone she jumps on me or won't stop talking when I am having a serious headache and I do not know what to do. She is 8 yrs old! I do not want a book on terminal illness even though it really would have a lot of interesting things in it to help but I don't want her to think I am going to die because I am ill. So Please if anyone can help I am really in desperate need. I am short tempered, I have yelled at her, and begged her to just leave me alone when I desperately need it. But she will not stop! Yet all of this is making me feel so gulity. Thanks, Raven

is there something like a young carers group she can join either online or local where she can meet others who have sick or disabled person in the family?

Viks,
I don't know if there is a local group but there should be and I will check into that but I took her last night to a Martial Arts school because it was buddy night and she was a guest. OH MY She had so much fun and when we left she was saying yes mom, Thank You, May I help you with that, hugging me, being so sweet. We go back on Tuesday night, the teacher invited us again because my daughter jumped right in a did the things the students had been doing for months. She wants to join and I know how the martial Arts teaches a lot more than self defense. Like respect, honor, self esteem ect. Something she really needs. I still hope to find a book that we can read together to help her understand. Thanks so very much for your ideas. Raven
