I was wondering if anyone knows if it is ok to use this nail polish. You see as you know I have a few fungus toenails that I don't polish but I did one day for a couple of hours while I went to my husband's work picnic. Anyway it's such a pretty color I wanted to not waste the bottle and use it on my fingernails which do not have fungus. Is this ok or is the polish now contaminated from using it on my fungus toes and should I throw it out? I hate to waste such a pretty color since I'm not going to paint my toenails anymore for a long time but I don't want to use it on good fingernails if it is contaminated. HELP!

I had a little bit of fungus on one of my toenails and used the same polish on the others and did not notice anything so I wouldn't be too paranoid because I believe the fungus is under the nail so not quite in contact w/ polish not sure though. You can buy over the counter nail fungus treatments at the drugstore to help the existing fungus in the meantime.

Nail polish contains formaldehyde which will kill any minute spores that may be transferred from the nail plate to the bottle. The spores live deep within the tissues of the nail bed AND the nail plate layers. If you plan on using this polish for your fingernails, I wouldn't use it on my toes anymore since an overabundance of fungal spores can contaminate the bottle.
