I've gained [weight] recently and I just can't stand this. Only I can't stop, either! My methods of avoiding weight gain clearly aren't working any more. I just feel so fat and unhappy ... but my way of dealing with that is to eat, eat, eat ... and then some more! I especially hate the way I'll turn down, say, a nice family meal in favour of hovering around the kitchen eating dry cereal standing up. You get me? I just hate this! I feel as if food is controlling me! Does anyone have any tips or anything?

I understand how you feel. I recently gained a few pounds. I'm afraid to get on the scale to find out how much. However, I have to gain [weight] before I see my pdoc in 2 weeks so I've been trying to gain. I've been eating alot of junk food. Chips and ice cream and chocolate. I feel like I put on [a lot of weight] although my pants still fit just fine and my husband says I'm delusional. But when I eat I feel so fat. Just knowing that I gained just a few pounds makes me feel so unattractive. My self confidence is gone. But on the other hand, just 2 weeks ago, my husband told me I was too thin and I agreed and I actually felt unatractive because I was thin and I was trying to hide how thin I've become. Go figure. So I didn't eat today. Not a bite.

Please call your attention to the sticky post at the top of this Board: "Avoiding Triggers".
