View Full Version : Can AIDS be transmitted through erotic toys?

Hello,

Although I am a virgin, I recently purchased a sexual toy from a local adult video retailer. Specifically, this toy consists of a miniature vagina made of some kind of rubber skin imitator (it is called an 'Ashton Moore Pocket *****') and it may be used for sexual self-stimulation to the point of orgasm (I am male). I understand that HIV/AIDS may only be transmitted through direct sexual contact with a carrier or a carrier's bodily fluids (as well as through blood transfusions and from parent to offspring) although I have heard of anomalic cases of transmission. Essentially, I'm wondering if I could have obtained HIV/AIDS by means of using this toy, and if there are any reported cases of acquisition of the disease by these means. I have no symptoms to date (I first used the toy last Sunday, and it is currently Wednesday, so there likely wouldn't be even if I had full-blown AIDS). The toy was in a package when I obtained it, and has not been used by anyone else with either my knowledge or consent. Please help!

If the toy was brand new, there is no reason for you to panic! Even if it wasn't, I would think you would wash and sterilize it before use. Rule of thumb, wash everything before using it. It will keep away infections, as well as diseases.
