monday night, i got my upper ear cartilige pierced. I've been taking care of it, cleaning it how they tell me. It doesn't hurt, besides the typical soreness you would expect if you touched it.
But, I had to leave school today because when i woke up i felt sick and it got progressively worse throughout the day. I have basically flu symptoms, a fever of 101 (with medicene in me), an extremley sore throat, dizzyness, naseua, and soreness all over.
is this a result of my ear piercing? should i remove it?
or is it just a coincidence and i have another illness?

please help!

IS the earring hypoallergenic? Gold stud? Is the site of the peircing red and *****? Hot to the touch?

If the site is only mildly sore and not inflammed red and *****, it is not the earring. It is doubtful that you would have such a systemic reaction to an ear piercing anyway. My bet is you have the flu or strep. Get to your MD for treatment. You can ask them about the piercing while you are there. They can prescribe or give you an antibiotic sample just in case.

Sincerely,
MG
