I'm new to this website and after reading dozens of posts involving DRX 9000 I'm really confused. I was all set to start the treatment next week but have decided to postpone the starting time for 3 weeks in order to clear my schedule as I will have to go 4 times a week for 5 weeks and it is a 48 mile drive each way to the chiropractors office. Also I will have to wear a body brace most of my waking hours during the course of my treatment along with some expensive orthotics in my shoes, and maybe the weather will be cooler in October. Am wondering if anyone knows of a medical doctor in southern California that has this machine, as possibly my insurance would pay if done in an M.D.'s office rather than by a chiro? My problem is the slippage of alinement between L-4 and L-5 and resulting in disc herniation and degeneration. I consulted a surgeon last spring and he recommended surgery, and as most people, I want to avoid that as long as possible so am seeking non-invasive alternatives. The total cost I have been quoted is $6500 so I want a lot of information before I make that investment, even though I am in a lot of pain and my usual active lifestyle has been severely curtailed. Can't do housework (darn!) or enjoy shopping or gardening. Pain meds have very little effect. I am interested in feed back from others with this problem. I am 69 years old, not overweight and this problem has really become much more severe in the last couple of months.

I'm sure you will get some that love it and some that hate it. I gave it a try a few years ago. I was almost not able to due to the grade of my Spondylolethesis (sp?) I tried it for weeks also with the Chiro and therapy. I developed tendonitis in both hips and had to stop. I don't know if it helped or not. I would just research it as much as you can. I was lucky that my insurance paid 100 percent and it was only 15 min. away. Good luck with everything.

I tried the DRX9000 a couple of years ago. I probably went three times a week for a month. It irritated my back and temporariliy made it worse. I did not have to wear a brace or any shoe orthotics. I've never heard of that. The place I went had a chiro, a doctor and a physical therapist that all worked together. I don't know if it helped other people, but it definitely did not help me. I have 2 degenerative disks and one is slightly herniated. The place is out of business now, which makes me really leary. Hope this helps.

Quilter,

There is a sticky at the top of the board about this that is full of posts regarding folks experiences with it. Why don't you read them and then make your decision? It is an expensive choice that not alot of folks here have had good luck with.

good luck...
