My doctor said I could wear eye makeup after a week, putting it on doesn't scare me but taking it off does...how do you guys do it? I probably won't wear mascara for a month or so since that seems to be the hardest to get off your eyes. Opinions please! :) Thanks!

i have always just washed my face when i shampoo my hair and use shampoo and water and a washcloth. post surgery, when my doc said i could wear make up again (actually a day or two early because i had to get christmas pictures taken!), i washed my face the same, but just was extra careful, and used a baby washcloth instead of a regular (i have two kids and a hundred gazillion baby washcloths!). just be careful and don't rub your eyes and you'll be fine. and if you don't wear waterproof mascara, you shouldn't have any problems there either - i always just rub over my eyelashes with soap on my fingers before washing the rest of my face. :)

Soap? Doesn't that get in your eyes? I always used vaseline and rubbed it all over my eyes and took my makeup off with a wet washcloth, but I can't rub them now I guess! LOL! I will buy some gentle eye makeup remover and see if I can get most of it with a cotton ball. HAHA!

not usually.... but i take my make up off when i'm in the shower so i let the water run on my eyes pretty quick after i do the soap, so it probably doesn't have time to get in my eyes.... if that made sense at all....
i was actually thinking, "vaseline? doesn't that get in your eyes???" :)
baby wipes work pretty well for removing eye make up too.... you can get the generic ones at target or walmart (get the gentle kind if you use generic though) and they are great!

I use Neutrogena eye makeup remover. I put it on a cotton round and then wipe it across my lids. I use eye liner and it doesn't always get the eye liner off, but other than that it seems ok. Then I just rinse my whole face to get it off. I had my surgery almost over 10 months ago and I still don't rub my eyes. Removing eye makeup is the most rubbing they get, unless I accidently do it in my sleep!

Has anyone fallen asleep with eye make-up on? How dangerous is it and why? Thanks for any input.
