My health declined about 6mo ago & nobody can find a diagnosis. I have had tons of tests, the most they come up with is bacteria infection & posibly sarcoidosis. This all seemed to happen after the bug guy came & sprayed, he came in the house & asked me to show him where I saw roaches, I went into the little bath & with me right there he started spraying like crazy. He even opened the cabinet w/all meds etc & soaked it in there too. I asked if it was harmful & he sd no. Soon after that I started w/a dry cough that wouldn't stop & got worse. The thing that got me is I told my Dr & there was no interest at all. From what I hear there's no way to even prove it. Sorry this is long but has anyone ever heard of this? I also lost alot of weight, like skin & bone now.

Call the exterminator company to find out what substance they used to spray your home. See if you can find a dr that practices environmental medicine. You might have more luck if you look for a Holistic MD, as they tend to study environmental toxins more closely than other docs and know what to test for. Many will take mainstream insurance. And they listen.

Was your dr specific about what kind of bacterial infection you have? Are you being properly treated?

Just so you know, while scientists don't know the exact cause for sarcoidosis, one of the possible causes is thought to be an immune response triggered by exposure to agricultural dust, insecticides, pesticides, or mold. 60-70% of Sarcoidosis cases resolve themselves within 2-3 years. Still, its worth getting checked into further.

Good luck and please keep us posted.

Thanks for your reply, that is the most anyone has sd to me in 6mo regarding this! The company sd it was Cyfluthrin & just the other day had the nerve to call & say I was due for another spraying! As far a bacteria, no just told bacterial infec. I was finally given Cipro this month & that stopped the constant diarreah I had for 6mo kept nothing that I ate & went to skin & bones. I am having my gyno do another test on my urine & a culture so maybe she can tell me what kind. Just went for ANOTHER CS w/dye yesterday & then the Dr's office says have to wait 21/2 weeks for appt, yeah right I will just have to stop & get a copy of the report myself. I'm really interested to see if it's the sarcoidosis. Already had stuff taken off my vocal cords. I will take your advice & see if there's a Dr who can help, no other one was interested. I thought maybe have a hair sample (I guess Holistic) too only prob is bleached it blonde since then didn't feel like keeping the red up so don't know if that would mess it up. I will be in touch thanks so much for info! Joy

Joy, Sorry you're going through all this frustration to get a dx.

re: hair analysis - You can use pubic hair for hair analysis if your head hair is chemically treated.

I looked up Cyfluthrin. Its a pyrethroid compound, which is a synthetic version of a natural pesticide. That doesn't necessarily mean its safe. Signs of chronic exposure in lab animals are: weight loss, kidney inflammation, vomiting, diarrhea, and a decrease in body temperature. Exposure through inhalation can cause symptoms at very low doses; concentrations of as little as 150ppb can be enough to cause lethargy and a failure to gain weight. If it causes that kind of thing in lab animals, it isn't much of a stretch to think what it does in humans. I'd definitely hold off on that 2nd spraying for awhile.

Thanks for the hair suggestion, I was wondering about that. I will prob have to find a holistic dr don't see any other Dr's down her (S W Fla) that can help or would want to. When I asked them they sd it was only 0.100% & also Intice was used. I started w/a dry non productive cough like I was almost choking. I won't let them spray, showed no interest that that happened. I look like death so thin, def will ck on all you mentioned. Thanks so much!

Find a environmental med dr even if you have to go out of state. I had pesticide exposure 20 yrs ago & have not recovered yet. It effected me neurologically & physically. Stay away from peticides. You must get them cleaned from your home. Have anything that was sprayed washed or disposed of. Good luck!
