Hi, Im a sixteen year old high school student. I am active, I run cross country, however I do next to nothing in terms of weight training. Anyways, I'm skinny all around, arms, legs, etc..., but in my belly area, lower/upper, I have more fat than anywhere else! what may be the cause?

You need to incorporate some kind of weight/resistant training. Twice a week is good enough. Once you built up some skeletal muscle, you'll begin to burn more fat. If you don't like hitting the gym with weights, you can do short bursts of sprinting. It's been shown that this kind of interval training helps you burn more fat throughout the day. You can't target burn fat in any particular area as the above poster mentioned.

I agree... crunches alone are not going to fix it. I used to do many crunches every day and had NO results. For me it was my diet that I had to change. I lost weight but mostly ONLY in my midsection from eating healthier and snacking less. The rest of my body just looked a bit better but wasn't much smaller... just my stomach got flatter and thinner. I also like to do pilates for this... it really does seem to firm up my abs and is relaxing.
