I am a pump using diabetic who has been prescribed sucralfate for an ulcer situation, 4 doses a day. I am of the opinion that this drug is causing my blood sugars to rise through the roof. yesterday at 1145pm i had a 131 BG, At this point i took one of my doses of carafate and with absolutely no carb intake or reason, my blood sugars rose to levels 1 &1/2 hours later to about 236.
thats 131 to 236 in a little under two hours with the only ingest being water and a dose of sucralfate. does anyone have any similar stories they might be able to relate?

You can call your pharmacy and ask if carafate can affect your blood sugar.
They should have gone over all the info with you before they handed you the prescription. It's probably easier and faster to look it up on line. There might be something in the flavoring you are reacting to. Good luck!
