Talk about good timing !!
I too have had that same pain that you are describing, and went to the doctor last week, took the day off from work, had the cat scan, blood work, and urine done
After waiting a week for the results, and for the doctor to call me back,I finally just got to talk to his nurse and she said that the cat scan was negative, so it is most likely a "pulled muscle "..oh, I don't think so !!
Like you said, I know my body, and yes, this pain could be from scar tissue that I have had several surgeries for , or possibly a hernia, which I have also
had surgery for..asked her if those would show on the cat scan , she said " I don't know " (what does she know !)
So, then I asked well, with all of this bad back pain that I have had recently did my urine or blood show any bladder infection ..had those lovely things before too !
Apparently they still don't have those results back yet...so I am still in very bad pain, and have no idea why.
This is just so darn frustrating, especially when they don't know what's wrong, so they just guess.
Thanks for the vent, and I will let you know my results, if she calls me back today.
Hope you are feeling better.

They should have been able to see blood or bacteria right in the office. The blood is a dip stick type of thing I think. My dr said he was going to look at my urine and came back in 5 minutes and said yes, I have an infection. Maybe they didn't see anything obvious and that is why they are doing the UA. Cipro is lovely. Threw it up this morning. Will see how tonight's goes and call tomorrow for something else if I can't keep it down. This will sound really stupid but I was so happy he found something. I couldn't face a new type of spasm that I would have to start dealing with. I know there are things like irritable bladder but I haven't looked it up. I don't want to look for things that aren't there or possibly convince myself I have something I don't have. It's bad enough reading drug inserts and scaring myself and looking for side effects. I didn't do any research on fibro or MPS until the dr said I have it. Hope you find out something soon. Take care.

Hi, I want to tell you my story so that others will get further help when it happens to them? I have had many Urinary tract infections. But many times they were undetected with the normal tests. It is a conditions many FMers get. So It falls hand in hand and shouldn't be dismissed just because the tests are normal. My last Urinary tract infection was four weeks ago and my Doctor put me on antibiotics which didn't work. It took them 2 weeks to get the test back too. They didn't find anything on the dip stick! Sometimes this condition is hard to detect and also sometimes there isn't an infection yet an imflammaton/irritating in the bladder. So keep that in mind when you have odd feelings in the lower abdomen, frequent urination, blood in the urine, Painful urination, ect. So yes its true not all things we feel is from FM but there are a lot of things we get that go hand in hand with FM. Good Luck! Raven

Try mixing 1/3 glass cranberry juice and the fill the rest of the glass with ginger ale or 7-up. Drink this daily till your infection is cleared up. Take your meds for the infection as well. Apparently this will help an infection as well, which is what they made me drink after gall bladder surgery. They told me it would help in case I got an infection.

I drink it now and then when I think I may have an infection coming on. I haven't had an infection in years and that was before that surgery back in 1991.

Just an suggestion and an drink for thought.
