HI,
On Dec. 12 I only had back, hip, and leg pain only on left side. I did have some numbness and tingling also only that side. After having the EMG and nerve conduction test done on Dec. 12 I have pain, numbness and tingling all over my body. The doctor who did the test does not have an answer for me. He does not believe me. I am seeing a new doctor now and she has sent me to therapy for possible fibromyalgia. It has not helped any yet. But I am only in my second week. WHAT I NEED TO KNOW IS WHAT DID HAPPEN TO ME ON DEC.12, AFTER THAT AWFULLY PAINFUL TEST,AND DOES ANYONE KNOW OF ANYONE ELSE THAT HAS EXPERIENCED THIS.THIS IS REALLY GETTING ME DEPRESSED. I HOPE I DO NOT SCARE ANYONE FROM THESE TEST. I SEEM TO BE AN ISOLATED CASE. ANY IDEAS, ANYONE?
THANKS, HKC

I had this procedure done after the healing process of my right wrist from a car accident didn't go well. About 2 hours after the test I began to feel strange and most of the stangeness stayed with me for about two days. The "strange" was my stomach felt like I had hit my funny bone and just all over an almost-eletrical-type pain. As I said, for me it lasted only a couple of days and then went away.

Hi HKC,
Sorry for the delay in responding. I have been and I am still in a bad flare. But It has been awhile so I wanted to check the board.

What I think is that maybe if you have FM, this could be the way your body is reacting to the stimuli of the test. I don't know if that makes sense to you
(sometimes I don't think I make alot of sense) but I think we all who have FM have different reactions from different things. Like in my case if someone pushes too hard on my back I get the numbness in my right arm/shoulder and severe spasms in my back, sometimes it lasts for a long time and I used to blame it on something else until I had a journal and jotted down things that happened. I also have sensitive skin(everywhere) when someone touchs me, but it only seems to happen after I get injections, blood or they take blood so its like we are reacting to the stimuli. When I had the nerve tests, I did feel funny after but it didn't last so long that I put two and two together until I read here on this board. Mine also felt as La_brat says. Now I can't explain why it is lasting so long with you but that would be my theory. Or it could be something not even related to the test( as I have found in myself) but you think it is caused by it because the problems started right afterwards. Its hard to say but I think you should continue telling your Doctor(s) until someone listens. I have nerve damage and it took a long time telling my Doctors about the numbness/pain before they even checked. And I saw about 10 Doctors too. So honestly there are some Doctors who don't care, let alone listen so you need to keep talking until one does! I wish you good luck! Oh and the PT never really helps me either yet for some FM'ers it does. Hugs, Raven
