Hi Everyone,

Unfortunately, I just got over being very sick with being dizzy, whoozy and nausea for almost 3 days and had to stop taking the Colostrum. Since I have, I have been feeling better by the day and still feeling out of sorts. I have up went back to my high intake of guaifenesin again and doing much better. Although the Colostrum helped me in so many ways it also ended up making me very ill, I did almost 4 weeks before coming so sick but had felt feeling ill off and on till 3 days ago.

I am sorry for not replying to any of your post recently but to get back top the board again soon for an longer time. I am also in the process of moving soon and need to get things done now that I feel a little better. Good thing most was done before I got ill for those 3 days. Will see you then and if I get an chance I'll try to drop in to post and say hi.

Till next time, everyone please keep well and wish you better health. Will be thinking of you all.

Chy :)

Hi Gui,

Sorry to hear that!

Are you sure it was the Colostrum? Do you have any milk allergies? With it being pretty much a natural product unlike something like the gui which is a drug, I would be somewhat skeptical that you'd have that kind of a reaction. Maybe it was the flu? Or another new medication that you started recently? Coincendence?

I guess maybe if you did get significant benefit you might want to wait a few months, maybe till summer and just give it one more try and see if you have the same response. The only thing I can possibly think of that people might react to with Colustrum would be the milk or lactose and I was curious about that.

Glad you're feeling better!

Rach

Thanks Cat and Rach for your post. I had another setback for an few more days with spasms everywhere you can think of, after my husband and I had gone out to doing an little shopping. I needed to buy some fabric to make an roman blind for the new apartment. While we were out there were tar fumes in one area where we had gone and of course I had no choice but to breathe them in. I think that's why I had the spasms so bad for 2 days. Finally okay this morning and finished the curtain panels for the swing arm w/ hooks, also got the booster's done and ready to have husband help me put the pillows through each one tonight. I am hoping to get the roman blind cut and ready to sew up tonight. Keeping my fingers crossed.

So, I decided to take an small break and then go and rest for and few hours to recoup my body. Not feeling too bad right now.

I stopped the colostrum and am on my guai at the same dosage that I was on before trying the colostrum. It works for me very well and makes it easier for me to tolerate my pain and most symptoms. I can't drink very much milk or have ice cream for very long when I start getting whoozy and sick from having these. I need to be careful with dairy and not overdo it. That probably why I got sick from it after an while. The intolerence of dairy runs in my family as well.

It's too bad that this had happened for me because I was doing so good on the colostrum and my med intake went down. I am thinking of trying it again after we move but will wait till summer. My husband is doing wonderful with it. I'm thankful for that and glad he can take it with no problems. Hopefully I'll be able to figure out and schedule for taking low doses of the colostrum when I do try it again. I haven't given up on it yet but will have to wait for an while before doing so.

Hoping that everyone is doing okay and sending my hello's to everyone. Will try to get to board as often as I can and will be glad to be back on full time after move.

Hugs
Chy :)

I was ill just before the new year (Dec 30). Think a vicious virus was going around (not identified) with lots of people down from viral infection for weeks (rather than days)! I haven't really fully recovered from that infection and now have headaches quite often, something I never had before, and a persistent sorethroat (sore every day and I gargle with salt).

The sad thing about this was that around that time, I began taking colostrum. I am not sure if the colostrum has made my "flu" worse. The "flu" messes up my experiment to test colostrum's value for me.

So far, I can say this with certainty. At times, it does seem to keep me more alert (hence, never take colostrum at night). At times, I feel it helps overall well-being (or cld be the placebo effect). At times, I get the sensation that I'm on the verge of falling sick again, with headache and nausea (but not necessarily body pain that is typical of fibro). I'm not sure whether these bad sensations are caused by the virus or induced by the colostrum.

What really GRATES is that I haven't been exercising much (and I NEED the endorphin release and musclework, man!). I think I succumbed to the viral infection of last year in the first place cause I exercised when I was physically/mentally overworked, hence reducing my body's resistence to infection. Now, I have a sorethroat all the time, and waver between wellness and a sick feeling. Scared to jog because of this for fear of a relapse. SIGH!

I've decided to stick to colostrum for a while and try to get more rest. Will see what happens and decide on a course of action. I've also noticed that I am particularly sensitive to fumes now... especially the fumes from some paintwork and perfume. Also, when a vehicle jerks or stops suddenly, it gets to my head... good thing is I have most of my strength, so I'm still quite active...

Hugs to all fibro sufferers and God bless. :)

Your sore throat may be due to sinus drainage during the night. With the heat running, your sinuses may be over working. Do you use a humidifier? That would keep your sinuses moist and not cause them to overcompensate.

Guaichy, You may of possibly developed a milk allergy since dairy products are common allergans. Have you considered the possibility of Candida Albicans (yeast)overgrowth? Milk products can increase yeast growth which in turn aggrevates the symptoms associated with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
A side note: where can I buy pure Guaifenesin without any added sugar? Thanks and hope you get better soon, BigTex

Big Tex

Do a google search for Guaifenesin Pills and you'll get a ton of places. The pills don't have all the sugar.
