Julianna77,
Sorry you are having such a tough time of it. I have IBS, reflux and hiatal hernia... I had my galbladder removed after almost 10 years of pain in the side. I did not have near the issues you seem to be having. Somone told me it would take a year before I felt like I did before I had issues and they were right. However, it sounds like you are having a tough go of it. Suggest you do a little more research on the surgery. perhaps try a medical website like webmd or something like that. Wish you luck. Sorry I cannot give you more assist. It does take a while to fully recover even if all goes well.
Best of luck,
Crampster

Julianna77,
Forgot to tell you calcium does help slow the diarrhea down just try a little at a time or it will go the other way. Maybe try a tums or something like that as they have calcium. It you slow down the diarrhea at least that would be something.

Diarrhea can be helped with coconut milk or those coconut maccroon cookies....really works!!

Julianna, if your ducts are all collapsed then it sounds like your stomach is full of an immense amount of bile and you have bile salts diarrhea which I had before and after my gallbladder surgery on June 16th, due to an infection in my gallbladder. What caused it I will never know, but my symptoms were as yours are pre and post surgery. Then I found a real good GI doc about two months after GB surgery and he put me on a med called Colestid, 2 grams daily, and within 5 days I had almost normal stools and after three weeks the bile salts diarrhea was gone. It is now almost 4 months since surgery and I am eating regular foods except real greasy stuff. I know many, many people who have been put on this med since their surgeries including doctors and nurses and they are now eating normal and gaining weight back and NO MORE diarrhea! I was just thinking that you might mention that to your doc and get the diarrhea under control before anymore drastic surgeries. Good luck...keep us posted. Sophie
