Hi,

I went to my Docs today as i have been getting up about 3 times a night to go to the toilet (wee). I have also been very dry mouthed, but not particlarly thirsty. I am taking Prozac, which gives a side effect as dry mouth, so im thinking its probably that. But the frequent urination is bothering me, as my urine specimen showed no infection.

The Doc has told me to go for a fasting Glucose blood test. What is this for? I am wondering if i may be diabetic as i also get really large boils occasionally on my back, and my eyesight deteriorated in last 6 months also. im worried
:((

Hello Worrybucket!

Your fasting glucose test will show how your body metabolizes sugar. Your doctor recommends it, and it's a tool s/he can use to diagnose you. Be sure to tell him/her about the symptoms you mentioned, and bring a list of all medications (including supplements and over-the-counter drugs), their dosages and how often you take them.

You can relieve your worry a bit by getting a true picture of your status. Good luck! Let us know how things turn out.

Hi Everyone

I am Type 2 Diabetes. When I had my first test that you are going to have. I found out that they look for everything, not just diabetes.

Your doc also wants to find out what is causing your UTI's (Urinary Tract Infection). What is great for that is 100% cranberry juice. Not the 10% cranberry juice. It works for me.

Love Ruth:cool:
