Has anyone suddenly had a significant change in the amount of insulin required to maintain there blood sugar? I am a Type I diabetic for the last 4 years. My daily insulin amount went from 20 units (avg.) a day to 30 units a day very suddenly. My diet has not change and my amount of excersise has remained unchanged. The only thing out of the norm that happen to me on that day was a bicycle wreck. I am all healed now except for a bruised knee, but my insulin amounts are still signifcantly higher. My Dr. doesn't have a clue (it may be time to find another).
I would be curious if anybody else has had this happen to them.
Thanks..
