my step-dad has bile duct cancer and a his bilirubin level is 18.5. how high can it go and what will happen as it goes highter?

what are his other labs looking like,besides the billi?i am thiking with actually having cancer,the billi and other labs could become very high.the less function that goes on,as things decline,it will cause a raise in alot of his labs.is he undergoing any sort of actual treatments or are they just letting this kind of 'go' on its own course?what have they given him as far as prognosis? marcia

i do not know what the rest of his labs look like. all i know is that they have told him to call hospice. i was just wondering what to excpect and maybe get a time frame.

they are doing no treatment only pain management they told him weeks to months.

Im sorry I dont know about bilirubin numbers but I do know that Hospice is only involved with 6 mths or less of life is determined.

Your family is in my thoughts.
