Has anyone else had this to happen to them? I've been diagnosed with IBS for several years now, and mostly I would have 'attacks' that would come and go. When I would have one, it usually lasted a 1-2 1/2 hrs or so. I would have severe cramping, then to to bathroom about 3 different times. BArely going the first time, then going almost normal the next, and finally with D the last time - all the time with cramping. After the 3rd time, I would finally start to get better, but I would be really drained. All I wanted to do was go lay down someplace, but that didn't happen much because I was usually at work.
This past week has been really different. Sunday, I thought I was having an attack. It finally got better, then I got a monster headache that nothing seemed to help. Monday I cramped all day & my gut was making awful grinding noises all day long. Tuesday I cramped some but mostly felt like something really heavy was on my gut. I was nauseated a lot on Tuesday. Wednesday, I was feeling like Tuesday up until about lunch, then I started to get better. ANyway, it's kind of been on an off again with the nausea ever since.
BEfore this, I hardly ever was nauseated, mostly during an attack, which I attributed to the pain.
Can your symptoms just change like on you? Or do you think something else might be going on?
I can't decide if I need to call the dr. or not.
Thanks,

Well as you may have read, I've had this "IBS" for 13 years. Because of the situation and the environment in which I got this problem, my case may be different than most people. I've always had nausia and occasional vommiting accompany my IBS. During my most severe flare ups I will vommit uncontrollably sometimes as much as 20-30 times in a couple of hours. Last month this happened to me. I vommited so fast and violently that it caused alot of confusion because of electrolyte imbalances, I barely had the mental capacity to call my wife at work to take me to the E.R.. It can be very scary for everyone involved. When she arrived 15minutes later, I didn't know who she was and couldn't speak a coherent sentence. Most days I feel very nauscious and unfortunately vomit in public quite often, its very embarassng, but sadly, I've gotten used to it. My wife is an absolute saint in helping me. I told her I had this problem when we first started dating, its hard to hide it when all you have to do is look at my old photos, its like a before and after commercial. I haven't found anything that helps much, sometimes if I take an extra dose of my Opium Tincture, it will calm it down a bit. I wish I could say something more to help you, usually I feel so bad I can't even tell when I get the flu until I get a fever. I hope you get to feeling better.:)
