 My ex just started taking Metformin, neither of us understand diabetes very much, I have no clue on helping him plan his menus. I told him yesterday morning to eat and egg and toast, (whole wheat, smart balance butter). He eats simple, doesn't go all out cooking big meals. He just doesn't understand what to eat, like one protein, one starch etc, can anyone help us find a website where we can get this info for Dummies! Thanks:)

KathySue.. The American Diabetics Association has great info on meal planning. If he is not into cooking I found a cookbook at Amazon that may help, it's called a Month of Meals. It breaks down breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. Most of the recipes are very simple. Some of the days even list "fast foods" and TV dinner type things. Good luck to you both!!!
