Since having chemo for cancer last year and losing all my hair (even inside nose), I have been having problems with one side of my nose. Hair has now grown back but scabs have been constantly appearing inside my nostral. It is sore to touch and has an unpleasant smell. Have tired vaseline and germoline but nothing is clearing it up. Don't know whether there is something simple to apply to clear it up or need to see the doc.

Anne, there is another thread with same theme.

I have had these scabs on one side or the other of my nose off and on since childhood and have never been told the cause. I pick them out, (it hurts and bleeds) and coat my nose with vasoline which does prevent the scabs from returning. Eight years ago I survived cancer and had chemo. I am not sure if I had nose scabs after my chemo. I am determined to find out what causes them. If you find out what caused yours please let us know. They drive me out of my mind. Wow! I jus noticed you are from Scotland. I am of Scottish ancestry.

hey everyone, ive had the same problem for 6 months now, luckily i went to the dr and she had a skin specialists (like a dermatologist) check it out and it is an infection from a bug bite, i got a medication to put on it twice a day and within 3 days it was virtually gone. i just figured it was because of allergies and dry air, but do get it checked out, there is a crazy long name for what it is, unfortunately i do not remember the name, but there is an easy medication to put on it and within days its better

nose spray worked for me.. whenever you feel that dry itchyness just spray it.. it's ridiculously simple and you'd think it was just water? anyway.. after a few days of that it should start clearing up..
